The number after the model name is the technology level, and it accounts for most of the price difference. It does not change how loud a Widex hearing aid can go. Widex or Signia?

Both brands come from the same parent company, so this isn’t a quality question. It’s a question of what your difficulty actually is.

Why is Widex less well known than other hearing aid brands?

Widex is a Danish company that has always spent more on sound engineering than on marketing. Among audiologists it has a strong reputation, particularly for natural sound and music. Less name recognition isn’t a quality problem, and it sometimes works in your favor on price.

Do Widex hearing aids connect to my phone and TV?

Yes. Both families stream calls and audio from Apple and Android phones. SmartRIC also sends TV sound straight to the aids without a separate streamer box, which is one fewer thing to buy and set up. Everything works fine without a phone if you’d rather not use one.

How long does the battery last?

SmartRIC runs up to 37 hours on a charge, among the longest available on any hearing aid. A 30-minute top-up gets you around 8 hours, and a full charge takes about four. Moment Sheer is rechargeable too, with a day of use from an overnight charge.

What’s the difference between 110, 220, 330 and 440?

Not volume. All levels go equally loud and look identical. The higher numbers work harder at pulling speech out of background noise, so you notice the difference in a crowded room and barely notice it at home. Pick the level around the rooms you actually sit in.

Will Widex work if my hearing loss is more than mild?

Yes. Both families take interchangeable receivers, which are the small speakers that sit in your ear canal, so the same device can be set up for a range of losses. If your loss changes over the years, we can often fit a stronger receiver rather than replace the aids.
